…every pantry has a story
Well, thanks to the never ending sea of black top, the temperatures here are close to Florida about now, sans the sea breeze of course. This is a nice cool, albeit sneak up on you kind of drink, I suppose I should have garnished it but the little umbrella just did not look right. Officially you are supposed to use mint leaves, well I’m fresh out so it’s a less flashy Floridita today. Yes, I would officially call this a boat drink, something to sip sitting around watching the sun sink low enough to slightly sizzle when it meets the horizon….sigh someday soon I hope.
Enjoy a drink that may or may not have been originated by Ernest Hemingway, at one of his favorite watering holes in Havana called, El Floradita. There are many versions out there with the main ingredient being rum, however I’m a vodka kind of girl.
Mix all ingredients in shaker add a few ice cubes shake vigorously pour into glass over ice.
