Chef Confidential

…every pantry has a story

Here’s mud in your eye…

Let’s start this off the right way with a dirty martini, shaken of course.  I don’t know what all this “up” talk is at bars with martini’s, who in their right mind would leave ice in a martini! Seriously do you understand the concept of dilution?  Shake it, stir it but never, and I do mean never, serve a martini on the rocks…

 The Perfect Dirty Martini

1 ½ oz chilled vodka (the good stuff you know what I mean)

¾ oz dry vermouth

½ oz olive brine

3 olives skewered on a toothpick

Place a martini glass in the freezer to give it a good chill.  Place the vodka, vermouth, and olive brine (the liquid the olives are packed in) into a cocktail shaker. Always mixed liquids first, add ice at the very last minute.  Place the skewered olives into the chilled glass. Add a handful of ice to the shaker, fit the lid on tight, then shake vigorously for about a minute. Pour immediately into glass over the olives and enjoy!!!
